Puppy Diaries

Meadow/Triton litter

Today, Oct. 22 I felt the puppies moving in Meadow's belly!  very exciting to feel the life within the swollen belly!  these beautiful babies should be born some time in first week of Nov.
Nov 4
Today is our birthday!  There are 12 of us! 8 of us are chocolate and 4 are cream and the best part is there are 4 choc boys and 4 choc girls and 2 cream boys and 2 cream girls.  Nana says she could not be happier with how we came out!  We are eating well and we sure do know how to cry when we get to far away from our Mama!  Our Mama Meadow is very tired because having puppies is hard work, but it is hard to be born too!
Nov. 8
On Thursday we went to the vet to get our dew claws removed, we were so brave and only cried for  a second.  The vet and her staff loved us they said we are gorgeous!  and they could not get over how many of us there are.
We are eating and gaining weight and growing.  Today we had visitors, Dusty's guardian parents came to see us and exclaim over us.
Nov 11
We are getting to be fat little sausages!  We are gettng to know Nana's sent and snuggle in when she holds us.  Mostly we just eat and sleep and poop, sometimes we sleep all in a pile and sometimes we sleep by ourselves or in a small pile of 2 or 3.  Our Mama is doing a great job and is very attentive, Nana says she is very proud of her!
Nov 16
We are beginning to show signs of our personalities. Our eyes will opening in a few days to a week you can see our eyelashes now too.  We continue to eat well and are fat happy little puppies, our poor Mama has to eat a lot to be able to feed us but she is not picky and eats well.
Nov 22
Our eyes are open now and we are getting up and walking now and even trying to climb out of the pool/box we are in. We respond to people's voices now and try to follow them with our eyes.  Some of us are trying to bark.
Nov 29th
Guess what?  On Thanksgiving we got to have dog chow and boy did we like it!  some of us like it so much we climb into the bowl to get more of it!  Now because we like it so much we get to have dog chow 2 times a day! Yum!  Nana's Mom also came to visit us on Thanksgiving, she had never, ever seen little puppies before and could not believe how much work we make for Nana, but Nana says she loves it!  We kept hearing stuff about a turkey but we did not get any, our Mama did though and she said it was good!
We are barking and we love to get held!  We are starting to play with each other and today Nana gave us toys to play with, it didn't take us long to figure out what to do with them, we are very precocious, what ever that means!
Today Nana's friends came to see us too! and one of the boys wanted to take us home, but Nana said we are too little to go home and his Mom said "No"
Nov. 7th
We are getting so BIG!  we are eating dog chow 2 times a day and will get to have it 3 times a day very soon!  we also have a bowl of kibble that we can try if we want but we like the mix Nana gives us better!
We are getting pretty good about using the potty box and only miss it if it is time for Nana to clean it.
We got 10 in of snow last night and we wish we were big enough to go outside in it but we haven't been outside at all yet soon though says Nana.
Dec 12
We are eating 3 dog chow 3 times a day now and some of us like to eat the dry kibble but the rest of us just play with it.  We like to wrestle and play with each other and toys!  We only nurse once a day now and only if our Mama Meadow asks to come see us,  Nana says it hurts her cuz we have sharp teeth!  Nana also said that when the rain goes away and the sun comes out that we get to outside to play!
Dec.23
Boy Nana has been busy, taking care of us and visiting with Tim her son who is in the Army!  He got engaged last week so when she wasn't playing with us she was with Tim and his fiance, Morgan.
We have been outside to play and love rolling in the leaves and running up and down the yard!
Nana's trainer Pam came to see us and evaluate us and she said we are all super smart! some of will make great agility dogs or obedience dogs and some of us will be just good all around pets.
We all use the potty box really well now and make Nana's job easier!
   Dec 27
Today we had lots of visitors and got lots of snuggle time, we also got to go play upstairs and hang out with the big dogs.  Everyone was impressed with how well we use the potty box, we are so smart.
Last night we all got our toenails trimmed and today some of us got our first bath.  Nana keeps talking about being 'Tutored' what ever that is but it doesn't sound good, she said we will get a little owie but it will feel better in a few days.  She said some of us go on Wed. and Thurs.
   Jan. 1, 2010
Last Tuesday we all got a shot (1st vaccine) we were very brave and did not even cry then Bear River's S'More went to her guardian home.  Wed and Thurs some of us got owies on our tummies but we are feeling better now.  Today our Lavender collared sistered went to her forever home and then tomorrow 2 more of us go home.  Nana says we will have the best life with our new families because she is very picky about who gets to have us.
We love to run outside and play in the leaves but it has been raining and it is too messy right now!  Nana gave us all baths today for the folks that came to see us and bought our sister so she won't let us play outside today, maybe tomorrow.
Jan. 4
On Sat. the neighbor boys Joey and Tyler came to play, we had such fun climbing on them and playing and romping!  We LOVE little boys!  We also had some other visitors that took our sister home.  We are starting to learn to sit for treats and we love to go outside to play!
Jan 13
We are getting so big!  Our Nana has been gone a lot this week cuz her Mom had a operation but she is feeling better then Nana took our sister Luna to her forever home!
We are so smart we are getting good at coming when called and some of us are learning to climb up and go down the stairs, some of us will go up but not down when we do that we make Nana laugh.  Bekah and Grumpy took good care of while Nana was gone but we are glad she is back!  she gives us lots of treats and helps us to learn stuff!
Jan 21
We are growing so fast and are getting cuter everyday and we are smart most of us are learning to sit for attention and we use the potty box. We love to play outside but it has been raining all day every day for a week and we have not been out.  Nana says today rain or shine we are going out!  Yippee!
We are hoping that on Sat.  more people will come to look at us and take us home cuz we are really ready for our forever families!
Jan 25
Guess what? on Friday it snowed and we got to go out to play in it!  we love that white stuff!  there was only about 3 inches so we made the yard a muddy mess very quickly but it sure was fun!  Nana got a new puppy from Canada named Mouse and she came to play with us, she told us that there was lots more of the white stuff where she was born and that she could not understand how warm it was cuz when she was in Canada it was -48 degrees  but here it was 35 degrees which we think is pretty cold.  Mousse loves to play chase and we love to chase her she is a little bit older than us so she teaches us lots of stuff, we like her!
since the snow melted we have played outside almost every day even though it is a bit wet out, but Nana says we have to run!
We love treats and will sit to get them.
Jan. 31
We are sleeping in crates at night now and once we settle, ( we have to fuss for a few minutes) we sleep all night! in fact we even let Nana sleep in until 8 this morning!  She really liked that!  When she lets us out in the morning we go right to the potty box to go potty.  We also go potty outside without any problems but Nana says we wouldn't all make it out in time in the morning to go potty cuz we get to busy chasing and forget to go to the potty spot so we use the box.
We are getting very good at sitting for treats.  We are love bugs and haven't met anyone we did not like!  Nana says it is getting harder to let us go cuz she loves us so much!
  Feb 2
We are learning to walk on a leash and all of the things that Mousse does at puppy class Nana comes home and teaches us.  We love learning and working for treats!
Feb 8
We are so smart, and are getting good at thinking and figuring out what our Nana wants!  She gets so excited when we "get it".  We love to play outside and chase and run and then when Nana gets out the treats we come running and sit for her.
Today, Sierra came to play and could not believe how smart we are and how big we are getting! We like when kids come to play!
Feb 12
Today, we made a new friend, his name is Ozzy and he is 17 wk old golden retriever that Nana's friends are training for Canine Angels .  Mousse came down to play too and we had so much fun running and chasing. We did make Nana's friend Ginger muddy though and Nana doesn't think she was too happy about that!
Then this afternoon we got to practice our leash walking and our sits and downs.  We are all so smart and know the word sit now.  Our leash walking is getting better and we love it when Nana gets out the clicker to train us cuz we know a click means a treat! Yum!
Feb 25
we went to see the vet today and got shots, Nana said it was like a "3 ring circus" whatever that is but Dr. Peggy said we were perfect and so smart and well behaved for puppies.  We didn't even mind the poke of the shot.
Mar 1
yesterday we all got baths and got to meet some nice people that might come take one of us home.  We also got to play with Tyler and had our first bully sticks, they are yummy!  We are losing our baby teeth and getting big dog teeth.
then today, Sierra came over to play and helped us remember to keep our feet on the ground when we greet someone.  Then her service puppy in training came to play and we chased Ozzy all over the yard, we kept making him hide under the chair-it was funny!  We also got our pictures taken to show off how cute we are.
